Internal link
An internal link would be any link that connects one page of the website to another. Visitors and search engines use links to locate information on a website. Users use links to browse the site and locate the information they want. Search engines also use links to explore the site. When there are no links to a page, they will not see it. An internal link leads to the same domain (for example, example.com to example.com/page2.html). There are situations when connections inside the same domain, such as different addresses within the same domain, may be deemed external.
Importance of Internal Links
They make it simple for people to browse your website. This lengthens their time spent, or the number of time visitors spend on your website and minimizes bounce-back rates.
They transfer link juice or ranking authority from one page to the next. If you link from a low-ranking website to a high-ranking website, the latter can transfer a portion of its link authority to the earlier, allowing it to rank higher.
They assist Google in crawling the site and understanding its hierarchy. As a result, the site's search engine positioning improves.
Types of Internal Links
Internal links are classified into four types: contextual links, navigational links, footer links, and image links.
Contextual links - Internal links provided in the context of the online and blog material are known as contextual links. For example, a company's blog page should ideally connect to an internal website capable enough to categorize its blog entries.
Navigational links - Navigation links are the interconnected web you establish on the navigation bar to help site visitors travel from page to page.
Footer hyperlinks: Footer links or boilerplate links are used in the footer area. These links will typically appear on each of your website's pages.
Image hyperlinks - These internal links will be provided beneath the pictures you publish.
Benefits of Internal Links
Internal links encourage visitors to stay on your website longer. They all contribute to a pleasant user experience. This may entice individuals to turn into a customer or subscribers. These connections are more visible to visitors and boost the authority of the pages and entire site. Internal hyperlinks are frequently utilized as a call to action. For example, they may invite a viewer to contact you or schedule a visit by prompting them to research or understand more about a particular topic by clicking on an internal link.
